Shooting for Women Alliance wasn't born from marketing. It started in 1992 when founder Susan Romanov was held hostage in her home at knifepoint for 5½ hours, then stalked for two years. That forced her to develop practical defensive techniques—the same ones SFWA teaches today to over 100,000 trained civilians.
"Truth in Training®" is SFWA's philosophy: civilian-focused methods designed for ambush situations where seconds count, not competition shooting or law enforcement tactics.

Family Fun Indoor Range in Sevierville has 11 modern well-lit shooting lanes, white leather sofas, hardwood floors, private classroom space, and a full kitchen. It's specifically designed for women and their families in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.

Custom fit approach. Susan Romanov's diagnostic method finds shooting errors in 30 minutes or less. It doesn't require thousands of rounds—most shooters just need proper instruction.
Civilian-only focus. No competition tricks. No "what cops do." SFWA teaches ambush defense: your attacker chooses the time and place, you respond with seconds to act.
Industry experience. Since 1997, Romanov has consulted with firearms manufacturers and retailers. Since 2000, SFWA published Shooting for Women magazine.
