Rustic but modern. Individual bedrooms with oil-based electric heating. Meals included nightly—owner John Henry cooks, and guests rave about everything from sloppy joes to pizza. The property also features a foosball table and year-round non-hunting accommodations for families wanting to experience the land via hiking trails and camping sites.
"The lodge is gorgeous and the hospitality is genuine. John Henry makes you feel like family, not customers." — Repeated sentiment across decades of guest feedback
Windsor Woods started as a dream twenty years ago. Two men built it from nothing into a functioning hunting operation with environmental practices intact—the lodge heats with renewable wood resources, maintains active recycling, and holds membership in the local Chamber of Commerce and Better Business Bureau.
Owner John Henry has personally harvested over 300 deer across multiple states and occasionally films hunting content. His guides—including veterans like Phillip and Mike—know the property intimately and understand where deer move at different times.
Check TWRA (Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency) website for current hunting season dates. Located in Wayne County, Tennessee.
One guest spent $1,000 on a lease, hunted 22 days without seeing a single deer. After a few hours at Windsor Woods, he saw four deer and harvested one. The difference is knowledge, land quality, and guides who know every corner of the property.
