24 Outfitters operates a diversified hunting destination near Winters, Texas (about 50 miles from Abilene, 3 hours west of DFW). The owner is a third-generation West Texas landowner, CPA since 1992, and tax attorney since 2001. What started as a cattle and farming operation evolved into a complete hunting and fishing lodge.

Dove season runs September 1 through the first weekend in November. 24 Outfitters controls several thousand acres of leased land across West Texas, with fields planted in winter wheat, black oil, and milo—prime dove habitat.

2025 Dove Hunt Schedule: - September 1-2 (limited day hunts available) - September 5-7 (fully booked) - September 12-14 (full packages & day hunts available) - September 19-21 (fully booked) - October 3-5 (fully booked) - October 24-26 (pending bird arrival from cold fronts)

Hunts run before sunrise to 11:00 a.m., then 3:00 p.m. to dark. A professional guide accompanies you the entire time.

Sandhill crane hunting offers a different challenge—described as "you against the Texas wilderness." Hunts are limited to 14 people per group to maintain quality. Day hunts start 1 hour before daylight through around 11:00 a.m.

The owner is 6'7" and 270 pounds—he built lodging specifically because standard hunting cabins don't fit larger hunters. All accommodations feature new 39" x 80" beds (unusually large), full A/C and heat, and quality furnishings.

Homemade pies (chocolate, coconut, peach, apple) are purchased from a local Winters resident. Blue Bell ice cream, campfire time with cigars and beverages complete the evening.
