Full description and what we offer
The Texas Handgun Association started in 1997 as the Texas Concealed Handgun Instructor Association, just one year after Texas passed its concealed handgun law. What began as an instructor network has grown into a 1,500-member statewide organization that represents both concealed and open carry advocates.
In 2003, the association expanded beyond instructors to include LTC holders and anyone interested in self-defense. Then in 2019, members voted to drop "Concealed" from the name—recognizing that Texas now allows both concealed and open carry. Today, the organization serves as the voice for responsible handgun owners in legislative discussions and policy debates.
Individual membership is open to anyone not prohibited from purchasing a handgun. Corporate membership is available for businesses and organizations aligned with the THA mission.
