Caprock Rifle Club

• •Caprock Rifle Club & Range, LLC is West Texas' premier precision rifle training facility, offering long-range shooting from 25 to 2,500 yards on the South Plains near Brownfield.

Caprock Rifle Club & Range is a members-only shooting facility designed and managed by Clayton Smith, an active NRL Hunter and Precision Rifle Series competitor with over 20 years of marksmanship instruction experience. The range is committed to providing exceptional training, safety, and a welcoming atmosphere for members and their guests.

The facility features two primary shooting areas:

• •Main Firing Line: 2,900 square feet of concrete-slabbed, covered firing line accommodating target engagement from 25 to 1,300 yards
• •Elevated Firing Platform: 50' x 15' elevated, covered platform for extended-range engagements from 500 to 2,500 yards

Both areas feature full-range PRS (Precision Rifle Series) style shooting positions with complete positional shooting props and obstacles for competition and training.

The range maintains over 75 pieces of AR500 steel targets permanently installed from 25 yards to 2,500 yards. Targets are organized by caliber: rimfire targets at 25-100 yards and centerfire targets at 200-2,500 yards. Target stands and backers are provided for sight-in and load development.

Facilities are limited to members and their guests. Guest day passes and monthly memberships are available. The range hosts numerous competitive events throughout the year, including PRS Regional Series matches and NRL Hunter competitions.

Located 6 miles from Brownfield with convenient access from Lubbock (35-45 minutes) and Midland/Odessa (1.5 hours). Private airport access is available within a mile of the range.
