Cox Firearms Training offers three core class types across two North Texas locations: 1921 West Houston Street in Sherman and 1615 Ward Neal Road in Bells.

Designed for people with zero handgun experience or those returning after years away. Class splits into two parts: classroom fundamentals, then live-fire range work.

Subjects Covered: - Handgun types and safe handling - Ammunition knowledge and selection - Fundamentals of handgun shooting - Stance, sight picture, trigger control - Actual range shooting with instructor-selected guns

For shooters with basic handgun knowledge who want to build real fundamentals. Small class size—only 8 student spots available. Full day of instruction and practical drills.

Subjects Covered: - Safety brief and mindset - Proper gear selection and equipment placement - Accuracy fundamentals - Balance of speed and accuracy under stress - Speed reloads and tactical reloads - Malfunction drills - Movement drills - Improvised shooting positions

Equipment You Provide: - Functional handgun (9mm, .40 cal, or .45 ACP) - Minimum 500 rounds of ammunition - Minimum 3 working magazines (6 for single-stack shooters) - Spare weapon if available - Weapon cleaning kit and compatible tools - Sturdy belt rated for equipment - Holster and magazine pouch that retain gear under movement - Eye and ear protection (electronic ear pro recommended) - Baseball-style hat (recommended) - Tactical magazine pouches, battle belt, or chest rig (optional) - Weapon lubricant - Hydration system - Seasonally appropriate clothing for strenuous activity - Rain/cold weather gear as needed - Knee and elbow pads (optional) - Gloves (optional) - Snacks
