Go Strapped Firearms Training

Go Strapped Firearms Training specializes in Texas License To Carry and Concealed Handgun License courses taught by a local police officer and military veteran. They operate across the Arlington, Fort Worth, and Dallas area with classes scheduled individually based on student needs.

• •Important: This is NOT a beginner's shooting class. You need to know how to operate and shoot a handgun before attending. If you're new to firearms, they offer an Introduction to Handguns and LTC/CHL Combo course ($140) to get you up to speed first.

The classroom portion runs 4-5 hours and covers:

• •Basic firearms safety and safe handling
• •Storage requirements
• •Non-violent dispute resolution
• •Use of force and deadly force laws
• •Civil liability
• •Texas concealed carry laws
• •Review and testing

Following classroom instruction, you'll complete a 50-round live fire qualification test at a local range. Range fees typically run under $20, and you'll need to bring or purchase 50 rounds of ammunition.

Once you complete the course, you'll receive the CHL-100 Certificate of Proficiency. Then complete your online application with Texas DPS (you can do this before, during, or after class), submit your electronic fingerprints through MorphoTrust, and upload your certificate. Your license arrives in the mail within weeks. You have up to 2 years after taking the class to file with the state.
