Full description and what we offer
Heli-Hunter was founded in 2009 by farmers and ranchers dealing with feral hog property damage. Texas has an estimated 3-4 million feral hogs—the largest population in the world—and traditional methods like trapping, ground hunting, and night shooting couldn't keep up with the damage. Aerial eradication from a helicopter became the most effective control method. In September 2011, Texas law changed to allow paying hunters to participate in helicopter hunts, and Heli-Hunter pivoted into one of the state's busiest aerial hunting operations.
Heli-Hunter operates out of Wild Acres Lodge, a 12,000 sq. ft. facility located just south of Dallas. Your hunt takes place across over 1.2 million acres of prime hog country where you can expect serious action.
What to expect per flight: - Average 15-25 hogs per 2-hour flight - Robinson R-44 Raven II helicopter (higher payload capacity, better stability than R-22) - Springfield Arms AR-15 semi-automatic rifles with Sightmark Red-Dot Optics and Dead Air Silencers - Unlimited ammunition provided - Professional pilot communication and technical aerial maneuvering
Hunting Season: Mid-January through April only. This timing avoids heavy foliage and keeps temperatures optimal for technical aerial maneuvers.
