ilearntohunt

ilearntohunt is the online hunter safety certification provider produced by Kalkomey Enterprises, the official recreational safety education supplier for all 50 U.S. states. The platform delivers state-approved hunter education courses through interactive, game-based learning rather than traditional classroom formats.

The certification process varies slightly by state but follows a consistent three-step model:

1. Pass the interactive online course - Complete the state-specific curriculum and pass the final exam (80% minimum score, unlimited attempts) 2. Print your completion voucher - Get immediate proof to bring to your state's required follow-up class 3. Attend the follow-up class - Complete your state's in-person component and receive your permanent Hunter Education Certificate

Every state course covers the essentials:

• •Firearms and ammunition fundamentals
• •Hunter safety best practices
• •Hunting techniques and trip planning
• •Wildlife identification
• •Emergency preparation and first aid
• •State-specific hunting laws and regulations
• •Ethical hunting principles

No time requirements. Students finish faster because there are no artificial timers forcing you to sit through content. You learn at your own pace.

Real-life decision-making. Make choices for your character that earn achievement badges. Face realistic scenarios—trip planning challenges, emergency preparedness situations, and safety operations. It's not a lecture; it's a game that teaches.

Higher retention. Research shows instruction combining words and images significantly increases comprehension and memory compared to text-only or video-only formats.

Completion times. Most students finish in under 3 hours, compared to longer traditional classroom sessions.

Currently approved in 30 states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin

Over the last 50 years, hunting-related injury rates have dropped dramatically, even as populations of deer, wild turkey, elk, and geese reached record numbers. Required hunter education—like what ilearntohunt provides—directly contributes to this safety improvement.

ilearntohunt courses are approved by the International Hunter Education Association-USA and developed in close collaboration with each state's wildlife agency. Every course meets or exceeds official hunting education requirements.
