Red River West

Red River West is a veteran-owned outdoor firearms training facility located northwest of Gainesville, Texas. The setup matters: multiple ranges spread across rugged terrain means instructors can teach without the constraints of confined ranges or nearby businesses. You get handgun, carbine, long-range rifle, and shotgun ranges capable of distances from 0–1,700 yards.

They run classes for civilians, military, and law enforcement. That's not marketing talk—the curriculum actually reflects it. You'll find:

• •License to Carry classes ($65, one day, 4-6 hours classroom plus shooting) taught by Ken Stormer and Debbie Sicking
• •Defensive Handgun I & II courses
• •Intro to Intermediate Handgun
• •Carbine Block Program and Long Range Rifle Block
• •Women-focused classes through the Ladies program
• •Custom curriculum available for daylight, low-light, and no-light training

Flat Deck Range (0–300 yards): - $12.50/hour, 2-hour minimum (includes one paper target, $1 each additional) - Available Tuesday–Thursday, 9am–6pm - Book 3 days in advance

Long Range (300+ yards): - $20/hour - Vetting required before first use

No membership or club fees.

They inspect all ammunition brought to the facility. Only approved manufacturers allowed: Remington, Winchester, Federal, Lawman, Hornady, Black Hills. No steel case, steel core, armor piercing, remanufactured, or communist bloc ammo. Long-range classes require match ammunition (Federal Gold Medal Match or Black Hills Match).

SERPA holsters and "serpaesque" designs are prohibited. All holsters get inspected before use.
