River City Shooters Club (RCSC) is a private shooting club dedicated to practical pistol competition and shooting sports in the San Antonio area. They've built a reputation for hosting high-quality, well-planned matches that challenge shooters of all levels.
RCSC hosts regular monthly matches:
Match Fees: - USPSA 5-stage: $25 - USPSA 6-stage: $30 - Specialty matches vary
RCCS operates out of Blackhawk Shooting Range on the southwest side of San Antonio, where they maintain a private, dedicated competition area.

Standard Match Timeline: - 8:00am - Registration Opens - 8:50am - Shooters Meeting & New Shooters Briefing - 9:00am - Match Begins
Most matches use Practiscore for registration. Check their website for current events and pre-registration links.
New shooters need: - Handgun - 9mm or higher (revolvers .38+) - Magazines - At least 3-4, enough for 30-round stages - Holster - Belt holster covering trigger guard - Ammo - ~200 rounds for a typical club match - Eye & Ear Protection - No compromises on safety gear
If you don't have a PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine), RCSC allows carbines (.223, 7.62×39) and .22 LR semi-auto rifles for PCC divisions in some matches.
RCSC runs matches across multiple divisions including: - Open Pistol - Production Pistol - Limited Pistol - PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine) - Carbine (.223) - Heavy (.308) - .22 Rifle - .22 Pistol
Specialty matches mix scoring styles (Time Plus, Time Only, low/high round counts) to keep things fresh and accessible.
Members get dedicated access to the 7-bay range and participate in club activities including: - Match setup and operation - Range maintenance and cleanup - Access to member-only events and camaraderie
Membership is by nomination only. Prospective members must: - Know a current RCSC member - Demonstrate basic firearms safety - Be legally able to own firearms in Texas - Help with match setup, work days, and match operations - Receive range procedures briefing from a club official - Gain approval from the Executive Committee
