TXD Training

TXD Training structures their program differently than most Houston firearms courses. Instead of a single weekend class, students progress through handgun fundamentals, then shotguns, then rifles—advancing only when they demonstrate proficiency. The whole arc takes 5 months, with personalized coaching available throughout.

"Everyone deserves the ability to defend themselves safely and effectively." The program builds three things: Self-Paced Mastery (advance at your speed), Self-Reliance (the right mindset), and Self-Defense (actual competence).

Beginner's Course - No firearm required. Rentals available (2 per class included). Max 4 students. 2–3 hour sessions depending on range.

Defender's Class - For students who already own and train regularly. 4–5 hour deep-dive sessions. Handgun, shotgun, or rifle options.

1-Year Training Track - The full commitment. Includes all beginner courses plus 2 private sessions monthly for 12 months with tailored coaching.

Open Classes - Regular range time for ongoing skill building, no matter your experience level.

Instructor credentials: - 20+ years of weapons experience - Graduated top marksman in police academy - TCOLE score of 248.5/250 across 6 courses - Certified NRA Pistol Instructor - 2,000+ hours accumulated firearm training - 100+ firearm types in experience

Their guarantee: If you don't pass assessments at 70% or higher, they work with you until you do.
