Waterfowl Outfitters Unlimited & the Eagle Lake Lodge

Waterfowl Outfitters Unlimited operates in Eagle Lake, Texas—known worldwide as the "Goose Hunting Capital of the World." The area's reputation rests on thousands of acres of rice fields and wetlands that create ideal feeding grounds. Every year, several hundred acres flood as rest ponds where hundreds of thousands of geese roost nightly, untouched by hunters.

• •Geese: Snow geese, blue geese, specklebellies, and canadas hunted in rice stubble, soybean fields, winter grass, or plowed fields.

• •Ducks & Other Species: Duck hunts on flooded ponds or flats. Early teal season (September). Sandhill crane hunts December through January.

Goose hunts require a minimum of 6 hunters; duck hunts require 4. Each hunt includes a guide, decoys, dogs, and white parkas when needed. Morning hunts only.

The lodge sits on 45 acres under oak trees on Eagle Lake itself—the largest privately owned lake in Texas. Comfortable lodging, pool, satellite TV, and campfire evenings with deer and geese visible across the water.

• •Chef Tim prepares home-cooked meals, or catering and self-cooking options available. Lodging runs $85/person/day; three meals add $105/person.

Skeet shooting available minutes from the lodge (cost of targets only). Fishing in Eagle Lake. The lodge hosts weddings, corporate retreats, and family reunions year-round.

Breakfast included with all hunts. 50% deposit required; refunds available 30 days prior. Executive hunts add $375 (guides handle all setup).
