A Place to Shoot operates as a full-service shooting facility and retail gun store in Boerne, Texas. What started as a range has evolved into a complete shooting destination with 72 rifle lanes, multiple shooting disciplines, training programs, and a retail operation stocked with over 700 firearms.
The facility includes:
- •Rifle Ranges: 28 lanes at 100 yards, 21 combo lanes (25 & 100 yard), 10 lanes at 50 yards, plus 12 premium lanes with 100/200 yard combos
- •Pistol Range: 23 gravity-fed bays with steel dividers, full-time RSOs (3 on weekends), no membership required, no time limits
- •Shotgun Fields: Skeet, trap, country doubles, and "crazy quail" on a first-come, first-serve basis
- •Archery Range: Foam targets at 20, 30, 40, and 50 yards with covered shooting positions
Every rifle lane includes a spotting scope and shooting sled. Range targets are pre-set and changed by RSOs as needed.
All instructors are current or former law enforcement and military
Their training team holds Texas DPS License to Carry certifications and NRA credentials. Courses include:
- •License to Carry (LTC): Full state-mandated course
- •Carry 1: 4-hour concealed carry fundamentals ($175)
- •Intro to Handgun: 2-hour basics course
- •Hunter's Education: State-approved hunting safety
- •Private Lessons: One-on-one instruction available
The in-store inventory includes:
- •700+ firearms (new and used)
- •Scopes and optics
- •Magazines and ammunition
- •Reloading supplies
- •Hunting gear and self-defense accessories
Staff help select caliber and firearm based on shooter experience level. Full rental list available on their website.
Currently operating without a full-time gunsmith, but offering limited services:
