Dietz Gun Shop & Shooting Range sits in the Texas Hill Country west of New Braunfels, offering pistol, rifle, and shotgun facilities in a rustic setting with views of the surrounding hills. The range has been operating for many years under the ownership of Howard and Sammye Dietz, both well-known in the competitive benchrest community.
- •Pistol Range: 3 to 25 yards with shaded shooter positions and tables for gear setup or reloading
- •Rifle Range: Over 20 shooting points with target distances at 25, 50, 100, and 200 yards
- •Shotgun Area: Wobble thrower clay target setup
Shoot as many pistols or rifles as you want all day—no string limits.

Howard Dietz is a master gunsmith (recently retired from gunsmithing but still active at the range). The facility hosts the annual Bluebonnet Shoot—a benchrest competition that draws competitors from across the region. Central Texas Benchrest Shooters (CTBRS) runs club matches here March through August.
Safety Rules: No tracer ammunition or .50 BMG allowed. Eye and ear protection required—youngsters must wear over-the-ear muffs. Strict cease-fire protocol during target changes.
