Florida CCW example: $289 includes the 6-hour course, fingerprinting, passport photo, and the $117 Florida state fee. You'll have a scheduled fingerprinting appointment with Vacaville City Police that same week. They handle postage too.

Utah CCW example: $179 includes fingerprinting, passport photo, all paperwork, and Utah's non-resident $63.25 fee.

Eligibility depends on which permit you're pursuing. For example:

Illinois CCW (Illinois residents): - At least 21 years old - Valid Illinois FOID Card - No felony convictions - No violent misdemeanors in past 5 years - No 2+ DUI violations in past 5 years - No active warrants or pending charges - No involuntary mental health treatment in past 5 years

Illinois CCW (Non-residents from AR, ID, MS, NV, TX, VA): - Same age/criminal history requirements as residents - Must already have a CCW permit from your home state - No pending charges - No involuntary mental health commitment - No domestic battery convictions - No felony delinquency as a minor

Utah CCW: - At least 21 years old (provisional permit at 18+) - Proof of good character - No felonies, violent crimes, or domestic violence convictions - No criminal convictions involving alcohol or drugs - Not adjudicated mentally incompetent - No active orders of protection - If born outside US: Alien Registration Number or valid US passport required

For existing California permit holders, they offer an 8-hour renewal course ($225) that meets SB28 requirements. Must be taken 60-90 days before your permit expires.
