D'Arcy Echols started this work in spring 1980. What began as stock making and rust bluing evolved into full custom rifle fabrication out of necessity—he needed components that didn't exist, so he made them himself. For four decades, that philosophy hasn't changed.
The focus is bolt-action rifles. Two main lines:
Each rifle is a complete project integrating thoughtful design with meticulous construction. Echols designs and fabricates components whenever possible rather than sourcing off-the-shelf parts. The goal: deliver a 100% finished rifle ready for the field.
"I have had a diverse hunting career as both the hunter as well as a professional guide. This 'hands on' experience has allowed me to test and evaluate my rifles as well as others under real world conditions rather than hypothetically from my workbench."
This isn't theoretical gunsmithing. Echols hunts with his own builds and guides hunters using them. That field experience directly shapes how he designs and improves every rifle.
Echols occasionally completes shotgun and single-shot rifle projects, but bolt-action rifles are the specialty.
