GunClassUtah teaches Utah concealed carry permit courses that go beyond state minimums. Instructor Phil Snyder, a retired law enforcement officer and certified Utah LTC instructor, requires students to shoot a mandatory 50-round qualification course—Utah doesn't require it, but GunClassUtah does it anyway to ensure you're actually safe and proficient with your handgun.

Classes run at Lee Kay Shooting Center (6000 W 2100 S, Salt Lake City) and combine classroom instruction with range time:

Morning Classroom - Utah firearm and concealed carry laws - Reciprocity and interstate carry rights - Use of force and self-defense law - Safe storage and handling fundamentals - Responsible carry in public and private settings

Afternoon Range Qualification - 50-round course of fire at 3, 7, and 15 yards - Timed stages with scoring - Minimum 175 out of 250 points (70%) required to pass - One-on-one guidance for beginners and experienced shooters alike

Before you leave class, GunClassUtah handles: - Training certificate issuance - Fingerprinting services - Official permit application photos - Application submission assistance

You walk out ready to apply for your Utah CCW permit.
