Jake Bess was born and raised in some of the West's best big game country. He's spent his entire life hunting the mountains of Southern Utah—elk, deer, lions, bears, sheep, and everything else the region offers. That deep knowledge of both habitat and animal behavior sets him apart.

This is a small operation by design. Instead of running high-volume hunts, Jake focuses on quality over quantity—meaning personalized, high-end experiences. His guides operate with a do-what-it-takes mentality and treat every hunt as if it were their own.

The operation is fully licensed and insured, permitted across:

• •Fishlake National Forest
• •Manti-La Sal National Forest
• •Cedar City, St. George, Kanab, and Grand Staircase-Escalante BLM areas
• •Richfield/Henry Mountain and Monticello BLM areas

• •Bull Elk — Southern Utah produces some of the largest bull elk in the world. Recent harvests include bulls exceeding 400 inches on archery, early-season, and late-season rifle hunts, plus countless bulls in the 350–380 inch range. Hunts available on Panguitch Lake, Mt. Dutton, Southwest Desert, Beaver, and Plateau Boulder Kaiparowitz units. Landowner tags available to bypass the draw.

• •Mule Deer — Some of the best mule deer hunting in the West. Clients consistently harvest trophy-class bucks. Both draw permits and landowner/conservation tags available.

• •Mountain Lions — Year-round pursuit with a pack of hounds that work on dry or wet ground (many outfitters rely on snow). Permits are typically available over the counter or through conservation auctions.

• •Black Bears — Hunts in May and June. Tags through draw or conservation auctions.

• •Once-in-a-Lifetime Species — Bison, mountain goat, and desert bighorn sheep hunts for hunters who've drawn or purchased these coveted permits.
