Location details and information
The Vernal Rod & Gun Club has been the centerpiece of northeastern Utah shooting sports for over 120 years. What started in 1902 has grown into a destination that draws competitive trapshooters from across the United States, Canada, and as far as New Zealand for the Amateur Trapshooting Association's Western Grand American tournament.
The club operates 13 American-style trap fields with brick and mortar bunkers, all equipped with Pat double traps and Canterbury Voice Release Microphones. Two fields are lighted for night events. Every field is paved with individual puller/marker stands and features billboard-style squadding management signs visible from all shooting positions.
The range itself sits on unobstructed terrain with terrific vistas and consistently great targets—no obstructions behind the fields.
Trap Pricing: - Non-member daily fee: $5 - 1-round singles/handicap (25 targets): $6 - 1-round doubles (25 pair): $12 - 1-year annual membership: $50
Both members and non-members can bring factory or reloaded ammunition, as long as shot size doesn't exceed 7-1/2, loads aren't magnum, and contain no steel shot. The clubhouse stocks shells at prevailing rates—inquire about brands and availability.
Generations of Utahans have used the club for competition, practice, and socializing. Annual membership is $50 and includes access to all trap fields during club hours. Non-members are welcome to shoot for a $5 daily fee.
Summer hours are by appointment only. Call ahead: 435-789-0418 or 435-655-1501

Vernal may be a small town, but the club proves shooting excellence doesn't require a big city—just serious shooters and a century of tradition.
