Tri-State Training, LLC specializes in CCW and firearms safety instruction for Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, DC, and New Jersey residents. Each course is built around the specific legal requirements of that state—because what works in Virginia doesn't work in Maryland, and the instructor knows the difference.
Every class covers the fundamentals that matter:

The Virginia/West Virginia permit is honored in 40 states and qualifies WV residents for a tax credit on state taxes.
- •Personal Protection in the Home — An 8-hour course that teaches handgun fundamentals for home defense with a legal component taught by a West Virginia lawyer. $150.
- •Private Lessons — One-on-one instruction for pistol, rifle, or shotgun. Work directly with the instructor to improve marksmanship or safety technique. $100/hour. You bring your own firearm, ammunition, and gear.
- •Shotgun Training — Dedicated shotgun courses for those who want to specialize.
Instructor Chester Sprankle teaches the actual laws you'll live under, not generic legal concepts. Every course includes notarization services, photo assistance for applications, and help completing online renewal forms.
They're also an FFL holder, which means they can handle the full permitting process—fingerprinting, background checks, photos, and application support all in one place.
Classes fill up. Deposit or full payment required at registration through their online store. Some courses (like Maryland Wear & Carry) require a $100 deposit; others require full payment upfront. Range fees are included in most class costs.
