Green Mountain Boys Shooting Club

Green Mountain Boys Shooting Club began in 1989 at the Ethan Allen Shooting Range. In 2003, with the support of David Villeneuve, the club relocated to Camp David in Eden, Vermont—a full-service shooting facility in the Green Mountains.

GMBSC membership costs $50 and runs from one annual shoot to the next. Members receive:

• •All-season range access (except during scheduled events)
• •Gate key and membership ID card
• •Access to the range and firing line by designated access road
• •Camping allowed on-site

"A GMBSC membership gives you access to SHOOTING RANGE ONLY by way of access road." Members must sign a liability release form, and all brass and trash are the shooter's responsibility.

There are no range officers present during regular member hours, so the club emphasizes safe, self-supervised shooting.

GMBSC hosts a two-day summer shooting event (2025 dates: July 18-19) that draws participants from across New England and as far as California. This is the club's signature event—a celebration of 2nd Amendment rights with:

• •Reserved line positions available by registration (limited capacity; waiting list maintained)
• •Multi-day event structure with Friday and Saturday schedules
• •Night fire volley Friday evening (weather permitting)
• •Breakfast, lunch, and buffet dinner available
• •Camping in designated areas
• •Full schedule from 6:00 AM opening through evening hot ranges

Firing Line Schedule (typical): - Morning session: 10:00 AM hot - Cease-fires for reset and brass collection - Evening session: firing through darkness

The club enforces strict safety protocols:

• •Eye and ear protection required at all times on the line
• •All rifles must be pre-approved; no cannons allowed
• •Barrels up/downrange, fingers off triggers, actions open until on the firing line
• •Handguns must be unloaded and holstered or slide-locked until ready to shoot
• •No policing brass while hot—only during cease-fires
• •No spectators on the range tower
• •Line officers have final authority
• •Zero tolerance: Alcohol, drugs, firearm repair on-site—violators are asked to leave immediately
• •Anyone under 18 must have immediate adult supervision

Directions: From RT 100 North in Eden (1 mile past the Welcome Sign), turn left on White Road, bear right at 6/10 mile, take the first left on logging road after pavement ends. Range is 1.7 miles in.

The club became an official LLC in 2006. Since moving to Camp David in 2003, the facility has undergone continuous improvements including entrance gates, firing line infrastructure, and range amenities. The club maintains connections with 2nd Amendment advocacy organizations including the Vermont State Rifle & Pistol Association and Gun Owners of America.
