Full description and what we offer
BGOA operates as a national non-profit focused on two interconnected missions: protecting Second Amendment rights for Black Americans and building economic strength within the Black firearms community.
Beyond advocacy, BGOA maintains an extensive directory of Black-owned gun stores, ranges, manufacturers, and ammunition vendors across the United States. The organization verifies each business owner and requires them to offer 15% discounts to verified BGOA members in exchange for directory listing.
BGOA's directory includes 50+ affiliated businesses: - Full-service gun stores (sales, transfers, FFL services) - Tactical ranges and shooting facilities - Custom manufacturers and gunsmiths - Ammunition manufacturers - Specialized gear makers (holsters, tactical equipment) - Training academies and instructors
"BGOA plays a crucial role in Gun Rights by facilitating Gun Ownership, providing training and providing our members with supportive services and legal protection."
BGOA explicitly addresses the gap between gun ownership and representation—ensuring Black Americans have access to firearms training, legal protection, and economic opportunities within the industry. The 15% membership discount requirement creates real economic leverage for member businesses while incentivizing quality service.
Prospective members can join online. Businesses interested in affiliate status must verify ownership (via LinkedIn or reliable sources) and commit to the member discount program.
