The Cove Campground

The Cove Campground is a premier outdoor recreation destination spanning 3,000 acres in the Appalachian Mountains near Gore, Virginia. Located just 12 miles west of Winchester and 80 minutes from Washington, DC, this privately owned certified tree farm offers a full-service shooting range alongside extensive camping and outdoor activities.

The Cove features a professional-grade rifle and pistol range open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm. The range consists of:

• •Certified range officer on staff to monitor safety and operations

The Cove is conveniently situated for shooters throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Directions from Winchester: Take US Route 50 West for 12 miles to Gore, then turn left on Route 751, left on Route 704 for 4.5 miles, and left on Route 683 for 1.5 miles to reach the headquarters at 980 Cove Road.

The range operates year-round with office hours daily from 9am to 5pm. Extended hours are available during summer months (May-September). The property features three large spring-fed lakes, 100 campsites, and cabin accommodations, making it ideal for extended shooting trips or weekend getaways.

Beyond shooting, The Cove offers camping, swimming, hiking, fishing, boating, and ATV/motorcycle trail riding on over 30 miles of marked trails. The facility regularly hosts group events, festivals, and special occasions, with amenities including a 25-acre event field, covered stage, and accommodations for large gatherings.
