Horseshoe Farm Hunting Preserve operates across private land and hundreds of acres of untouched hardwood forests and river bottoms adjacent to Army Corps of Engineers property along Buggs Island Lake/Kerr Reservoir. The property combines agricultural fields, old growth timber, young growth forest, and wetlands—habitat deliberately managed by a Wildlife Biologist and Timber Manager.
Guided Hunts Available: - Deer hunting from 13+ stands (several accommodate 200+ yard shots) - Quail hunting with trained dogs (bring your own if certified) - Turkey hunting - Fishing: 2-acre pond stocked with bass, bream, and crappie
Hunters at any skill level can book guided experiences. Deer processing is on-site with running water and hanging rack behind the barn. Virginia hunting licenses required (residents must complete Hunter Education; non-residents need Non-Resident Shooting Preserve License).
Four generations of family ownership. The Ware and Saunders families have developed this property specifically for hunting and outdoor recreation.

Trained operators guide guests through hands-on experience with Bobcat, bulldozer, full-size excavator, and mini excavator. Tasks include digging, tire stacking, and log moving.
Specialize in hosting men's ministries, youth groups (KOZ - Kids Outdoor Zone), scout troops, and 3Wide Ministries. Lodging, tent camping, day trips, and full weekend retreats available.
