NRV Self Defense has been teaching women how to actually fight back since 2018. They operate out of two locations—Radford Recreation Center and Newport Community Center in Giles County—with zero tuition. Classes are designed for women only, and nobody needs prior experience.
Their instructors don't waste time selling you the "80-90% of self-defense is avoiding" line. Instead, they teach:
Classes are completely free. The instructors won't turn away anyone because of cost. That's intentional.

Both instructors are trained in trauma-informed coaching. They create a safe environment where past trauma won't be inadvertently triggered. This matters because:
NRV Self Defense also offers free classes to women's church groups, social clubs, and community organizations. They just need a space to teach.
