Full description and what we offer
Laurence Pylinski runs a one-man gunsmithing shop out of Cumberland, Virginia—a rural location about 30 minutes from Richmond that's become a destination for serious shotgun owners nationwide. He's been building this reputation for over two decades, and it shows in how manufacturers treat him.
Pylinski Arms is the authorized service and warranty center for: - Browning - Blaser - Kolar - Krieghoff
He also performs service and repairs on: - Beretta - Perazzi - Rottweil - SKB
This matters. When a customer has a problem with a high-end Browning or Krieghoff shotgun, the manufacturer's first call is often to Pylinski. That's not something you get without decades of proving yourself.

"I could not be more happy with your rebuild. I have shot four trap rounds and had no issues with either barrel. The receiver feels as tight as a new gun." — John S. Martin, on his Browning 12-gauge Special Trap Edition rebuild
"She has shot 850 12G, 200 20G, 100 28G, and 100 410G without any misfires since you looked at it." — Brian Gorman, after Pylinski serviced his daughter's Beretta
One customer from Texas brought a Beretta 682 that had light primer strikes on the top barrel. Pylinski didn't just fix it—he rebuilt it so perfectly that the customer shot 50 pair of doubles afterward, checking every fired shell. Every primer was struck identically on both barrels. That's the standard here.
Pylinski holds a certificate and flag from Colonel Rich Menhart (stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC), recognizing his role as the gunsmith for the West Point Skeet & Trap Team. This isn't casual—Menhart is a veteran with 8 combat tours and a Purple Heart.
Location: 967 Anderson Highway, Cumberland, VA 23040 Phone: (804) 357-2393 Email: [email protected] Hours: By appointment only (no walk-ins)
Mandatory: Call ahead for authorization before sending your gun in. Include a written note or printed work request with all contact information. Guns arriving without documentation cause processing delays.
Pylinski recently transitioned away from mobile gunsmithing to focus entirely on in-house work, which allows him to spend more time on each job and maintain his reputation for precision.
Customers repeatedly mention that Pylinski guarantees his work. One customer bought a shotgun expecting it to be a frustration—getting it right meant everything to him. After Pylinski fixed it, the gun performed exactly as it should. The customer wrote: "Your knowledge and skills have provided me the opportunity to enjoy the gun like the manufacturer hoped I would be able to."
That's the difference between a gunsmith and an expert. Pylinski is an expert.
