Full description and what we offer
Pinto's Guns operates as an FFL dealer on Wells Ave South in Renton, handling firearms sales, transfers, and ammunition for the Northwest. The shop is staffed by working shooters—many are Washington State Hunter Education instructors and avid military rifle enthusiasts—which shows in their inventory and services.
Ammo selection is their standout: rifle, pistol, and shotgun ammunition from 17 caliber to 50 BMG, 410 gauge to 10 gauge. What makes them different is the military cartridge focus. You'll find 7mm Mauser, 7.5 French, 6.5 Carcano, 8mm Mauser, 30-40 Krag, and 303 British in stock regularly. They carry Federal, Winchester, Hornady, CCI, Prvi Partizan, Wolf, and Remington, and special orders are available for calibers and brands not on hand. Case prices available on some rounds.
Beyond ammo, they buy, trade, and consign firearms—whether you're moving 5 guns or 150. They handle estate purchases and appraisals, and also buy firearm accessories, reloading equipment, supplies, and military collectibles. Staff can identify and value anything from 1800s production to current models.
Out-of-State Transfers: - $40 per firearm transfer fee - $18 state transfer fee per transaction (as of Jan 2024) - Washington sales tax applies to transfers from FFL dealers - All transfers require HB1143 safety class certification (free online options available) - Valid Washington State ID required with current address - All firearms come with free trigger lock or you purchase one before leaving - Minimum 10 business day wait after background check starts - High-capacity magazines (11+ rounds) cannot be transferred—it's illegal in Washington State
Private Party Transfers: - $40 per firearm (serial numbered item) - No sales tax collected between two non-FFL individuals - Seller brings firearm during business hours; buyer picks up next business day or later - Same ID and trigger lock requirements apply - No high-capacity magazines allowed
Important: Both buyer and seller must complete all paperwork themselves. Assistance or interpreters mean the transfer won't happen.
Two Saturdays per month, two classes daily at 11am and 2pm. Four students maximum per class. Students get same-day discounts on reloading equipment and supplies. Call 425-227-9280 for dates and registration.
Pinto's sponsors a Youth Shoot at Renton Fish & Game for shooters up to age 18. Firearms and ammo provided. They're serious about building a foundation in firearm safety and gun handling for the next generation.
