Own Shoot Confidently?
01 // DETAILS
Full description and what we offer
Shoot Confidently runs a progressive handgun safety program designed to take nervous beginners to confident shooters. The whole thing takes three phases and happens over consecutive months.
NRA Basic Pistol curriculum covering handgun operation and safety fundamentals. Available in-person (1st Monday, 6-9 p.m.) or online. You get a certificate acceptable for concealed carry permits.
No recoil, no noise, no stress. You develop actual muscle memory for safe handling using realistic pellet guns at a local facility. Second Tuesday of the month, 6-9 p.m. You pair up with another student—one shoots while the other coaches. This peer learning approach works better than lecture.
One-on-one appointment at a private gun club. By now the muscle memory is locked in. You start with 22LR (lightest recoil available), then move to 9mm, .380, .45 ACP, or other calibers only when you're comfortable. You'll shoot multiple handguns in the session.
If you're after a CCW permit, this course covers everything required: - Holster alternatives and carry methods - Self-defense legal issues (Washington & Oregon specific) - Where you can and cannot carry firearms - How to apply for permits - Non-lethal self-defense alternatives
"Most people come to this course quite nervous, but all leave having had fun. You will become a confident shooter." — Shoot Confidently
