Spartan Firearm Training was founded by Andy Escalante, a nationally certified NRA instructor with 50 years in firearms—6 years Army Military Police, 12 years in law enforcement, and over 40 years teaching private lessons before starting this school. His co-instructor Bob Venters is a retired Army First Sergeant with 40 years of military and law enforcement experience. That's not resume padding. That's who's running your class.

Phase 1: Classroom Fundamentals ($110) Saturday, 9 am–4:30 pm. Limited to 12 students. Covers: - Basic firearm safety rules and the 6 shooting fundamentals - Secure storage, handling, loading/unloading - Firearm selection and ammunition basics - Washington state firearm laws and HB-1143/I-1639 requirements - Use of deadly force and criminal avoidance - Constitutional background and federal law
Refreshments provided. 10-minute breaks every hour. Classes held in Lakewood with address emailed after registration.
Phase 2: Live Fire Training ($95–$150) Held at indoor or outdoor ranges. You demonstrate Phase 1 fundamentals, practice shooting, and qualify to NRA standards. Bring your own firearm or use one of theirs (small additional cost). Range fees may apply ($15–$20 for indoor lanes).
Veteran-owned business. All courses issue certificates meeting Washington State training compliance requirements.
Classes are limited to 12 students maximum. Minimum 6 for Phase 1, minimum 4 for Phase 2. Private groups and organizations welcome.
