Butler Farms operates a managed hunting preserve in West Virginia with seasons running from early September through late April. The property consists of diverse cover—grasses, thickets, grain fields, fence rows, and timber ridges—specifically maintained for both wildlife and hunter safety.
Upland Bird Options: - Combo Hunt: $533 (4 pheasants, 4 chukars, 20 quail, guide with dog) - Individual Birds: Pheasants $28 ea. | Chukar $19 ea. | Quail $13 ea. - Field Fee: $25 per field per hunt party - Guide & Dog: $60 + gratuity
Hunt Times: - Morning: 8 am to noon - Afternoon: 1 pm to 4:30 pm - All-day: 8 am to 4:30 pm
Hunting parties limited to 4 shooters. Bird cleaning and buffet lunch included. Your own well-behaved dog welcome.
Annual dove season hunts occur around Labor Day with limited space. First day $125, second day $100 (includes lunch). After the main dates, special pricing of $25/hunter for full-day hunts during WV's short dove season. Reservations open January 1st and fill quickly.
All hunters must carry a valid West Virginia game license and follow WV DNR regulations. Out-of-state hunters can obtain a Class J Preserve License for small game or Big Game licenses for deer and turkey. Blaze orange required for upland bird and deer hunting. Safety rules are posted, reviewed, and verbally reinforced before every hunt.
Novice to expert hunters welcome. Special accommodations available for those requiring assistance.
Butler Farms also maintains a spring-fed stream stocked with trout during season, offering another hunting and fishing option on the property.
