Full description and what we offer
Back Country Taxidermy Studio started as Dale Horton's childhood passion and turned into a career spanning decades. He picked up taxidermy at age 9 with a correspondence course from Northwestern School of Taxidermy, practicing on pigeons his brother shot. After technical college and years of part-time work, word of his skill spread—friends of friends requesting whitetail mounts and largemouth bass—until demand forced the studio to go full-time.
Dale saw taxidermy as a way to preserve that beauty for years to come.
Based in the lower level of Paddock Lake Sporting Goods on Highway 50 since opening full-time. Member of the Wisconsin Taxidermists Association and National Taxidermists Association—credentials that matter when you're trusting someone with your trophy.
