Full description and what we offer
Cro-Bar Taxidermy, established in 2008, is a state-licensed taxidermy shop owned and operated by Nate Toufar in Chetek, Wisconsin. The shop specializes in deer and fish mounts but also handles other animals.
Centrally located in Northwestern Wisconsin, Cro-Bar sits just 15 miles south of Rice Lake and 45 miles north of Eau Claire. If you're near Spooner, Hayward, or Ladysmith, you're in the area. For Twin Cities hunters and anglers, it's about two hours east.
Toufar learned taxidermy at a young age and has trained under experienced craftspeople throughout his career. He's persistent about staying current—attending seminars and workshops to master new products, techniques, and technologies. Each mount gets serious attention. The goal is straightforward: a realistic trophy you're proud to display anywhere.
Services include: - Deer mounts (shoulder mounts, full body) - Fish mounts - Other animal taxidermy - Rack restoration - Shoulder mount prep - Fish prep and care guidance - Trophy care advice
Grew up and lives in the Northwoods his entire life. Gun hunter, bowhunter, and fisherman who respects the outdoors and uses it every opportunity he gets.
He's passing those same values and experiences to his own family. This isn't someone selling taxidermy services—it's someone who actually hunts and fishes, which matters when you're trusting him with your trophy.
