Full description and what we offer
Firearms Recovery Service operates at the intersection of law enforcement, insurance claims, and retail sales. They work with the FBI, ATF, State Police, Sheriff's Offices, and local law enforcement to recover lost or stolen firearms and process the salvage for insurance carriers.
The business model is straightforward: when a firearm is recovered and released, Firearms Recovery Service secures it on the insurance carrier's behalf. Ownership transfers from the carrier, who receives the sales proceeds without any liability. No fees charged until the item sells.
Appraisal Service
They provide both Blue Book value and current market value based on actual comparable sales. The firearms market moves fast—relying on outdated retail values inflates settlements. They offer three appraisal types:
Salvage Recovery
"We are the only nationally licensed firearms manufacturer, dealer, appraisal and recovery service with over 30 years' experience recouping the salvage value of current, collectible, antique or custom-made firearms."
They market recovered inventory at full retail. When salvage exists, they secure the firearm, complete a safety inspection, perform gunsmithing to enhance recovery value, then sell through their facilities. If it doesn't move in 30 days, it goes to auction. High-value specialty or collectible items go through specialty sellers and auction houses—these cases can take up to 90 days. Standard recovery cycles typically complete in under 45 days.
They guarantee no negative recoveries. If they can't provide positive recovery, they absorb all fees and expenses.
Replacement Service
If the insured wants a replacement firearm, Firearms Recovery Service sources it through their dealer network at significant discounts. For discontinued models, they locate LKQ-equivalent replacements. Specialty, collectible, or rare firearms go through their network of collectors and specialty dealers.
When the FBI, ATF, or local law enforcement recover stolen firearms, property rights can take weeks, months, or even years to clear. Firearms Recovery Service has the experience navigating these complex cases and has recovered tens of thousands of dollars for carriers even through lengthy legal processes.
