Pine River Sports Assn

Pine River Sports Association operates as a private club dedicated to advancing the shooting sports in Richland Center and surrounding areas. Located at 1535 N Cedar Street, Richland Center, WI 53581, PRSA is affiliated with the National Rifle Association (NRA), the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), and Wisconsin FORCE (Wisconsin Firearms Owners, Ranges, Clubs & Educators).

"The purpose and object of this organization shall be to foster and encourage the shooting sports among citizens in our community. This is to include instruction and training in the safe handling and proper care of firearms, improved marksmanship & competition."

The club owns and maintains a 50-foot indoor firing range with 9 points and electric target retrievers. All members have access to the facility during non-event times. The range is specifically configured for precision shooting with specific ammunition and firearm restrictions in place:

• •Allowed: .22 rimfire rifles, rimfire and centerfire handguns (up to .45 ACP power/velocity)
• •Not allowed: Centerfire rifles, shotguns, magnum handgun ammunition, armor-piercing, tracer, or incendiary ammo
• •Target restrictions: No steel or reactive targets

Two separate disciplines running alternating weeks:

• •Rimfire League - Bullseye-style competition with slow fire only. Shoot 10 shots at each of 3 targets (30 rounds total). Steel sights or red dots permitted. Cost: $5 per night or $25 for the season.

• •Centerfire League - Mix of slow fire and rapid fire targets. 10 shots at each target (30 rounds total). Steel sights or red dots permitted. Cost: $5 per night or $25 for the season.

Final season winners are determined by your five best scores. Shoot as much or as little as you want—flexibility is built in.

Runs November through March with matches emphasizing real-world defensive shooting scenarios. Features:

• •Different course of fire each month with positional shooting at paper targets from various distances and barricades
• •Round counts vary between 50-150 rounds per match
• •Timed events with scoring based on time plus penalties for misses/rule infractions
• •Generally 2-3 stages per match
• •Cost: $15 per match or $35 for the season
• •Registration 8:00-9:00am day-of; Safety Briefing at 9:00am
• •All matches completed by 1:00pm
• •Non-magnum centerfire handguns with any sight permitted
• •Must shoot at least 4 of 5 matches to be eligible for awards

Focused instruction for young shooters using BB guns, air rifles, and .22 caliber firearms.

PRSA is currently accepting and welcoming new members. The club is private/members-only, meaning members have priority access to the facility. Members may bring guests but are responsible for their conduct.

Historically, the club offered "Open Shooting" times for the general public with a Range Safety Officer present. Currently deferred due to limited RSO availability and range time constraints.

The club hosts the Richland Center Youth Shooting Sports program and partners with regional organizations like the Armed Women of America (AWA), which holds monthly meetings at the facility. The organization emphasizes building "honesty, good fellowship, self-discipline, team play, self-reliance and good sportsmanship."
