Halter Wildlife Inc. traces its roots to 1955, when Ed Halter founded Pheasant Valley Club on land once hunted by Potawatomi Indians and French trappers in the 1700s. The operation became legendary—Ed bred six duck species to create what's now known as "Halter's Golden Mallard." When Ed passed in 1980, the club was renamed in his honor.
Members access approximately 1,000 acres of unspoiled Wisconsin land featuring:
- •Upland bird hunting - The original focus, still going strong
- •Trap shooting - Dedicated shooting grounds
- •Fishing - Three ponds and 2 miles of scenic river
- •Trail hiking - Over 20 miles of marked trails through marshes and natural habitat
"A place where we could go to enjoy nature" - Ed Halter's vision, still the club's mission

The property enforces strict safety protocols: - Orange required on body and head for all hunters - Safety glasses and ear protection strongly advised - Speed limit enforcement to protect dogs and hunters on property
