Location details and information
Wood County Rifle and Pistol Club is a volunteer-operated shooting organization dedicated to promoting firearm safety, competitive shooting sports, and hunter education in central Wisconsin. Located in Wisconsin Rapids, the club serves both experienced shooters and those new to the sport.
The club operates two ranges available to members:
- •Indoor Range: 50-foot facility accommodating rounds up to 1200 FPS and .44 Magnum and below
- •Outdoor Range: 600-yard facility located just outside Port Edwards with multiple berms for various shooting distances
Members enjoy access to:
- •Rifle and pistol shooting on both indoor and outdoor ranges
- •Hunter Education Classes hosted three times yearly (March, September, November) with registration through Wisconsin DNR's GoWild website
- •Free Sighting-In Days (November) - open to the public with hands-on coaching for hunting rifle preparation
- •Shooting Matches & Competitions at the outdoor range throughout the year
- •Gun Shows - annual one-day event (8:30 AM - 4:00 PM) at Ryders Roadhouse in Kellner, Wisconsin
Membership is required for regular range access. The club welcomes new members at monthly meetings held the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM. Membership applications are available for download on the club website. A standard membership tier is available, with the option to upgrade to keyed member status after six months of membership.
