Hunting season runs September through December. The primary 250,000-acre private parcel has a long-standing reputation for producing trophy elk and is tightly restricted—they limit hunter numbers to maintain quality. Additional ranches include a 50,000-acre property known for exceptional mule deer, and a ranch with the Powder River running through it for mule deer, antelope, and prairie dog combinations.
Transport fees from regional airports: - Gillette, WY: $200 (1.5 hours) - Casper, WY: $250 (2 hours) - Additional person: $150/day
Spouses and non-hunting companions welcome—they can relax by the stream or enjoy mountain views while hunters are afield.
Beyond traditional lodge hunts, South Fork offers overnight pack trips and drop camps in the Cloud Peak Wilderness Area (July 1 – August 30). These include horse, guide, lodging, and food for backcountry hunting and fishing adventures.
Over a dozen verified client references provided, ranging from single-hunt combo specialists to multi-hunt elk veterans.
