Non-Typical Outfitters operates as a permitted outfitter in Bridger-Teton National Forest and adjacent BLM lands near Alpine, Wyoming. Robb and Dr. Brenda Wiley run the operation with their daughters Aspen and Autumn, prioritizing God, family, and business.
Most outfitters scout during season. Non-Typical invests extensive preseason days locating trophy animals—this is what separates them from the rest. They don't just hunt; they prepare months in advance, building detailed knowledge of their hunting areas.
"The amount of time that we spend in the field before your hunt starts is one of the things that separates us from the rest." — Robb Wiley
- •Mule Deer Hunts — Western Wyoming's mule deer herds produce some of North America's best trophy bucks. Region G has a high buck-to-doe ratio and outstanding genetics. The area has produced more Boone and Crockett entries than any other area in Wyoming. Currently not booking new mule deer hunts due to winter death loss; focusing on existing clients.
- •Rocky Mountain Elk — Large resident herd with high bull-to-cow ratio. Natural winter range nearby means consistent hunting without migration dependency. September rifle season opener with new camp for 2025.
- •Cow Elk Hunts — Three-day hunts described as more than meat acquisition. Clients report life-changing experiences in backcountry wilderness. Heart shots at 500+ yards are documented.
- •Antelope Hunts — High desert hunts from 10,000-foot mountain camps accessed via 4WD. These are "sleeper units" (low-pressure areas) in Wyoming, yielding quality bucks without requiring max points.
- •Spring Black Bear — Backcountry hunts with horses and pack animals. River crossings, mountain climbs, epic views from camp.
- •Predator Hunts — Wolf and coyote hunts using glassing, tracking, calling, and pursuit. Described as "the most exhilarating hunts on the planet." Winter range wolf hunting is called "the absolute pinnacle of challenge in North America." Includes training at no additional cost.
Non-Typical developed a 3-day shooting instruction course specifically for hunters who've invested years, thousands in gear, and tags. The class teaches:
- •Practical field positions for one-shot kills on big game
- •Advanced techniques for rough mountainous terrain
- •Wind reading and elevation adjustments
- •Realistic hunting scenarios with stress factors (elevation, wind, peer pressure)
Unlike flat-range instruction, this course builds both capability and confidence. Students learn exactly what distance they can close the deal 100% of the time.
2026 Class Dates: July 30–Aug 1 and Aug 4–6. $2,295 per person. Private group classes available with customizable instruction and activities.
- •What's Included: Three days/two nights at forest camp with all meals, accommodations in wall tents with wood stoves and cots. Bring your hunting rifle, 50-200 rounds, and gear you'd use on a hunt.
- •Instructor: Robb Wiley has trained Special Operations teams and law enforcement in pack animal tactics. He's guided in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Old Mexico, and Wyoming.
"Robb teaches a no holds barred hunting course that puts you in realistic hunting scenarios with the added stress of elevation, wind reading, and peer pressure. When Robb is finished, you will have accomplished two important tasks: the ability to know your limits at which distance you can close the deal 100% of the time, and secondly, Robb will build your confidence for arriving at hunting camp aware of what to expect." — Kyle Lamb, nationally known shooting instructor
