Full description and what we offer
Trails West Outfitters, LLC operates under USDA Forest Service permit in the Shoshone National Forest, 40 miles west of Meeteetse in the Absaroka Mountains. Josh Martoglio runs the only outfitter base camps located in the Greybull River Valley—a strategic location that puts hunters and anglers deep into quality habitat.
Their crew guides hunts for: - Elk — 98%+ success rate on both base camps - Bighorn Sheep — 98%+ hunter success, 100% opportunity (includes spike camps for Areas 1-5) - Mule deer, mountain goat, black bear, mountain lion, antelope, and moose
Hunts start with a 3-4 hour horseback ride from Jack Creek Trailhead to reach base camps. Roomy heated wall tents with foam pad cots, camp-cooked family-style meals, and experienced mountain guides included. Guides will quarter and pack game to the trailhead and assist with meat processing arrangements.
"Western hospitality is not only our motto but a way of life for us."
They use well-trained, experienced mountain horses for negotiating steep and sometimes rocky terrain. Special diets can be accommodated with advance notice.
