Swap Creek WMA Shooting Range operates four distinct shooting areas side-by-side, each with its own dividing berm. This setup lets multiple shooters work independently without waiting for others to clear downrange.
Range distances: - 25 yard range - 50 yard range - 100 yard range - Clay target area (north of the 100 yard rifle range)
All ranges accommodate rifle, pistol, and shotgun shooting with concrete walkways for safe downrange access to target lines.
Every range station and walkway is wheelchair accessible—no exceptions.
The facility is operated by Alabama's Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries in partnership with the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Alabama residents need a valid hunting, heritage, fishing, or WMA license (ages 16-64). Nonresidents need a WMA or nonresident hunting license (age 16+). Get a license online, by phone at 1-888-848-6887, or at local retail vendors.
Any legal firearm and ammunition is allowed—except armor-piercing, tracer, or incendiary/explosive rounds. Shotguns for clay shooting must use no. 4 shot or smaller on designated clay areas only.
Violations can result in citation or 24-hour privilege suspension.
