Upper Delta WMA Shooting Range offers rifle shooting out to 100 yards using an unusual safety design: each firearm barrel is inserted into a steel tube before it is fired, and the bullet travels through a 20-foot steel pipe before reaching the target and impact berm downrange. The rifle range includes a concrete walkway to the target lines and is wheelchair accessible.
A small concrete pad south of the rifle range is set aside for shotgun shooters, where shotguns loaded with No. 4 shot or smaller may be fired at moving clay targets in a designated clay area.
The range sits about 9 miles north of Stockton, AL, off St. Lukes Church Road. Shooters fire one at a time from designated stations at stationary paper targets or self-healing and automatic-reset metal targets, and any legal firearm and ammunition may be used except armor-piercing or tracer rounds.
