Alaska Tactical & Security operates as a family-run training facility based in Anchorage, working with the general public, military, law enforcement, and security professionals. Their philosophy is straightforward: quality beats quantity when it comes to ammunition expenditure. They run defensive courses in a relaxed but serious atmosphere, recognizing that every student is different and needs personalized instruction to develop consistent marksmanship without compromising safety.

These cover safe gun handling and marksmanship fundamentals. Participants need proof of an Alaska background check, law enforcement/military ID, or valid concealed carry permit before attending.
Designed for intermediate and advanced students building on foundational skills.
Ladies Stage 1 Handgun runs on a regular schedule (May 30, June 21, July 26, August 8, 2026 at 8:00 am). Cost is $250 and includes range fees. This one-day course is designed for women with no previous pistol experience.
What you'll learn: - The four safety rules as foundation - How to operate your handgun (loading, unloading, reloading) - Shooting stances and firing grips - Sight alignment and trigger press - Live fire practice with marksmanship development - Press checks and slide manipulation
Requirements: Alaska background check or concealed carry permit, good attitude, minimum 18 years (case-by-case), appropriate weather clothing with closed-toe shoes, ear/eye protection, brown bag lunch and water.
Handgun rentals available at $45/day (9mm or larger, full-size or mid-size semi-auto only). Must use Alaska Tactical ammunition with rentals. Students bringing their own handgun need a strong-side hip holster, magazine pouch, minimum three magazines, and 250+ rounds.
The 2-day Alaska Concealed Carry Course provides everything needed to apply for an Alaska Concealed Handgun Permit. Combines lectures with practical training drills. Schedule shows courses running monthly: January 24, February 21, March 28, April 18, May 16, July 18, August 15, September 19, October 10, 2026 (all starting at 8:00 am on Saturday/Sunday).
1-on-1 Firearm Training - Personalized instruction from start to finish focusing on firearm safety and accuracy. Expert instructors provide custom guidance tailored to individual needs.
Private Instruction & Team Building Courses - Custom-designed experiences for business teams, community organizations, bachelor parties, or major life events. Options range from basic firearm safety to advanced courses for experienced shooters.
