Full description and what we offer
Campfire Archery started in 2018 as a passion project between friends who understood bowhunting demands precision. Mark, the founder, spent years studying the mechanics and science of bowhunting before opening the shop. Today, every string is made by hand and backed by a lifetime warranty against defects.
All strings use BCY fibers in multiple configurations:
| String Type | Composition | Best For | Characteristics |
|---|---|---|---|
| 452X | 67% Dyneema, 33% Vectran | All bows | No creep, high abrasion resistant |
| X-99 | 80% SK99 Dyneema, 20% Vectran | Compound & Recurve | Low fuzziness, good arrow speed |
| Halo 014″ | 100% braided Spectra | End/center serving | Highest durability |
| 3D | Three-ply Dyneema or Spectra | End serving | Small diameter, tight & flexible |
Pre-stretched and served under 300# tension to prevent creep and peep rotation.
Strings come in multiple colors through their downloadable color card, with specialty twisted serving options for precise tuning.
Campfire uses the Specialty Archery Superserver SS-622 to lay down perfect servings every time. The machine: - Twists bowstrings evenly from both ends - Uses air cylinder to maintain constant 375# tension - Ensures even twist rate throughout for consistent performance
The operation includes bow service and maintenance. Mark and his team – including Jeff (20-year firefighter and lifelong hunting partner), Chris, Justin, Marty, and Barrett – all work full-time elsewhere, making Campfire a labor of love built around their shared passion for big game hunting across the western states.
They provide free resources including a String Builder Calculator and Big Game Application Deadlines filtered by state and date – invaluable for planning your season.
Mark grew up fishing and camping in Arizona, turned his competitive sports background toward bowhunting, and fell in love with the strategic, detail-oriented nature of the sport. The name "Campfire Archery" reflects the brotherhood, stories, and memories that happen in the field – exactly what drives the business.
