Dick Tone started shooting archery in 1950 at age 5 with a homemade bow. By 1964, he won the Canadian National Championship (both target and field divisions combined) and represented the U.S. at the World Championship in Sweden. His career spans competitive archery, bowhunting, trick shooting, and coaching at every level from beginners to Olympic athletes.
Dick began coaching in 1964 when his first students won the Ontario Provincial Championship. Since then, he's coached:
- •Multiple U.S. National Champions (men's, women's, junior, and intermediate divisions)
- •State and regional champions
- •Collegiate and intercollegiate champions
- •World Champions
- •Olympic Champions (1992 Barcelona Olympic Team coach, NAA Level 5 Master Coach)

He's attended the Olympics in 1984, 1988, 1992, and 1996 in official capacities. Recently, he's worked with young archers who've become top competitors—including developing the number 1 woman archer in the USA.

Dick has shaped the archery industry for decades:
- •Cavalier Products Co-Founder — Created archery equipment with machinist Jim Haines. The original T-300 arrow rest (patented 1976) is still in production today through AAE in Prescott, Arizona. At one point, archers using Cavalier products held every world and Olympic record.
- •Industry Roles — Worked for Easton Aluminum (arrow manufacturing), managed Henderson Archery and Hugh Rich Archery, represented Ben Pearson, Hoyt Archery, Rocky Mountain Razor Broadheads, Cobra Sights, and others through his sporting goods rep group.
- •Patents — Several U.S. patents on archery products.
- •Board Service — Professional Archers Association (PAA) board member and director; Archery Manufacturers Association (now ATA) board member.
- •Senior member of Pope & Young Club
- •Official P&Y measurer for 38+ years
- •Life member of Arizona Bowhunters Association
- •Arizona Bowhunting Hall of Fame inductee

Hunting experience: 12 elk, 40+ deer, 45+ javelina, bison, caribou, black bears, antelope, and numerous other game across multiple states and countries.
