Full description and what we offer

Defensive Tactical Training (DTT) fills a specific gap in Arizona's training landscape: high-caliber instruction in a controlled environment. They started the business to do what they love—train shooters to become effective defenders—using knowledge earned through military, law enforcement, and industry certifications.

DTT maintains one of the highest ratios of instructors and range officers to students in the market. Standard classes run 4-10 students per session. Advanced military trainers are reserved for advanced courses. New gun owners don't get thrown into the deep end with combat veterans.

"Our training is about education through the transfer of knowledge that our instructors earned through military, law enforcement and industry certifications."

Every course starts in a classroom for safe, comfortable fundamentals. Then students move to the range for live-fire drills where instructors demonstrate, guide individually, critique progress, and build confidence.

For new gun owners worried about being "too new"—DTT positions itself as beginner-friendly. The instructors make it safe to start, and you'll advance your skillset in 1-2 days of foundational training.

DTT continues scheduling private groups and classes to fit your timeline. They can train at their Wickenburg facility or come to your business/home. Fall/winter 2024 schedule posted in September with first class starting 10/20/24.

  • Contact to arrange your class. Call (855) 503-8847 or email through their website.

DTT is a privately owned company not affiliated with the NRA, though they use NRA-certified instructors to teach NRA curriculum courses (noted where applicable). Same relationship applies to USCCA training.
