Full description and what we offer
Extreme Shooters specializes in custom 2011 grip reductions, aggressive hand-stippling, and durable Duracoat finishes. Operating from Lake Havasu City, Arizona, they've built a reputation over 10+ years working directly with USPSA shooters, concealed carriers, tactical professionals, and law enforcement.
Every grip is custom-made to order based on your frame and hand size:
Standard lead time: 3–5 weeks for hand-stippled grips. Custom paint adds a few extra days for curing.
Don't have a new gun? Extreme Shooters accepts send-in grip customization. Ship your existing Staccato, STI, or 2011 polymer grip with mainspring housing for reduction, stippling, and paint—no gunsmithing required, just mail it in.
Their grips fit the broadest 2011 ecosystem:
| Manufacturer | Models |
|---|---|
| Staccato | P, XC, XL, C2 (with full-size mainspring kit + 126mm mags) |
| STI Gen 1 | DVC-C, DVC-P, DVC-L, DVC-Open, DVC-Steel, DVC 3 Gun, Apeiro, Edge, Tactical 4.0 |
| Taran Tactical | Combat Master, Pit Viper, Sand Viper |
| Springfield Armory | Prodigy & Prodigy Compact (with full-size mainspring kit + 126mm mags) |
| Other 2011/1911DS | Wilson Combat, Girsan, Masterpiece Arms, Vudoo, Live Free Armory, Tisas, Cheely, Brazos, JEM, Warwick Tactical, Triarc Systems |
Note: Staccato Gen 2 frames require a Gen 1 mag catch when upgrading. Gunsmith fitting is recommended.
Beyond grips, they stock 2011-specific components:
Extreme Shooters provided the original Dragon Scales and Costa Tree Bark textures for STI and Staccato production pistols and continues to offer them directly to customers today.
Dragon Scales is the same pattern used on classic STI DVC grips—providing traction without excessive bite. It's the industry's preferred choice for carry and competition. Tree Bark is more aggressive but currently discontinued.
Their grips appeared in John Wick 3 (Combat Master), Magnum PI, and Sons of Guns.
Important: Do not attempt to file, modify, or fit Gen 2 mag catches to Gen 1 grips—this will render the grip useless and non-refundable. Always use a qualified gunsmith.
