Full description and what we offer
Near and Far Gunsmithing opened in 2014 under Chris Miller, a second-generation gunsmith with over 40 years in the trade. When Miller decided to retire, he entrusted the shop to Vaughn, who spent more than 2 years as his apprentice after graduating with honors from Sonoran Desert Institute with a degree in Firearms Technology. Vaughn grew up around firearms and served in the United States Army before committing to gunsmithing full-time.
Today the shop operates as a family business—Vaughn's wife Raquel handles ownership operations, Pat McDonald provides gunsmithing expertise as an Army veteran, and Tye manages social media and web design. Chris still stops by occasionally.
