Full description and what we offer
The Metcalf Coyotes Wednesday Night Trap League runs a dedicated trap shooting program at Santa Clara County Field Sports Park. Every Wednesday night, shooters compete in a handicap format that gives everyone a real chance to compete—whether you're picking up a shotgun for the first time or you've been shooting trap for decades.
"We are always striving to be the best shooters. Our league is a handicap league, which allows everyone to be competitive."
| Season | Start Date | End Date | Banquet |
|---|---|---|---|
| Winter 2025-2026 | November 12, 2025 | January 14, 2026 | January 14, 2026 |
The league operates on straightforward rules:
If you show up and don't shoot, your score counts as your average minus 2. Plan ahead if you need to miss.
Members shoot as teams competing across multiple classes (AA, A, B, C, D). The league recognizes individual achievements too: most straights, most improved, and category winners. Banquet dinner caps off each 10-week season.
Santa Clara County Field Sports Park 9580 Malech Rd. San Jose, CA 95138 (408) 463-0769
The Metcalf Coyotes focus on one thing: preserving trap shooting and getting people involved in the sport. New shooters and veterans are both welcome.
