Pala Shooting Range is the only public range in Southern California with a rifle range extending to 887 yards. Whether you're zeroing hunting rifles, practicing precision rifle, or testing new loads, the distance is there.
The range opens to the public Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Gates open at 6:00 a.m., but shooters cannot be on the line before 8:00 a.m. It's first-come, first-served—no reservations, no appointments.

Cash only.
You own all the gear. The range does not sell ammunition, rent firearms, or provide targets. Bring: - Your ammo (inspected at check-in) - Earplugs and eye protection - Targets, staple gun, shooting mat - Spotting scope or binoculars - Front and rear rests
Ammunition Restrictions: No 50 BMG, no steel cores, bi-metal, incendiary, or tracer rounds. All ammo must be inspected at the desk.
Cease-fires happen every hour on the hour. Shooters unload, safe their weapons, and step back. Range staff handles brass pickup, then everyone moves downrange to paste targets. Wildlife occasionally crosses the range—deer, mountain lions, and bobcats warrant a cease-fire.
Pala works with San Diego and Riverside County-approved trainers for CCW certification. The range can direct you to approved instructors.
